News from the Billing Department: New Year, New Deductibles!

As 2020 draws to a close, ABC would like to remind everyone that most insurance policies renew as of January 1st, 2021.
What this means for many families is that their deductible will start over.

This is what you need to do to be prepared for the New Year:

Our Deductible Program
ABC Pediatric Therapy Network offers this program to help keep your balance manageable. Insurance companies can
take as long as four to six weeks to process your claims and make you responsible for your full deductible amount for
each visit. Balances can accrue quickly when coming in for weekly therapy, unlike other routine doctor visits.
Balances are to be paid in full each week as new claims process with insurance. By participating in the Deductible
Program and paying $50 per therapy session each time you come in it will help to offset claims as they process through

Alternative Funding
There are alternative funding sources that many families benefit from to help off-set the cost of therapy services. Ask the
front desk for a pamphlet of information about these programs, and call the Billing Department at 513-755-6600 to
discuss your options.

Health Savings Accounts (HSAs)
Many employers offer Health Savings Accounts (HSA’s) to help off-set the cost of high deductibles. These programs help
many families manage their medical bills throughout the year. Check with your employer to find out if you have access to
an HSA or HRA account.

Ask questions!
If you know that you have a deductible, please call your insurance company to find out exactly what your deductible is
and if it is the same as the previous year. Understanding your insurance benefits can help you plan ahead for 2021. For
example, know what your visit limit is and make sure that you don’t go over. Tracking your visits is your responsibility.
Our Billing Department is able to help make sense of your insurance coverage. If you have questions you can call 513-
755-6600 to speak with one of our Insurance Specialists.
