The Goal of Interactive Metronome
Improve the participant’s ability to process information, to plan and sequence, and to increase attention span.

What is Interactive Metronome (IM)?

Interactive Metronome is a non-invasive therapy technique that impacts multiple functional skill areas.

How does IM work?

The IM program is administered by certified professionals trained in the program.
IM is a computer based program that utilize a metronome tone heard through headphones. The client attempts to match the beat though a series of exercises established by the IM provider utilizing a hand and foot trigger system. The program utilizes repetition and auditory feedback to increase the participants accuracy throughout the duration of the program. At each consecutive training session, the client is progressively challenged to improve accuracy and timing.

Interactive Metronome targets three primary areas including:

• Timing and Rhythm
• Mental Processing
• Focus and Concentration

Participation in IM has been shown to:
• Increase control of aggression and decrease impulsivity
• Improve reading and language skills
• Improve focus and attention
• Improve coordination, rhythm and timing
• Increase recollection of information
• Increase precision, consistency, and efficiency of timing

Who can benefit?

• Any individual who would like to improve focus, concentration, and quick recall of
information.
• Children diagnosed with ADHD, ADD, learning disorders, coordination disorders, and/or processing disorders
