FUN FEEDERS CAMP
Feeding is a complex process that is learned through experience and observation. This program is intended for toddlers, preschool and school age children who have oral motor, sensory and/or behavioral feeding challenges. This group will incorporate sensory activities and good exploration techniques in a way that invites children with limited diets to experience new foods. Parents are encouraged to observe and occasionally participate in order to use the techniques modeled during the camp at home. Ideally, participants will learn to transition to new foods and textures, have more willingness to try new foods at home and/or have a more varied diet. All four senses will be utilized as well as a step by step approach to introducing new foods in a positive and gradual manner. Homework will be provided after each session.
Date: June 23, 2009–August 13, 2009
Time: Tuesday, 11:15-12:00
Cost: $230, based on a 4:1 ratio (4 children per one therapist, SLP or OT)
Supplies will be determined weekly, and families will be responsible for the food items (for their own child) per week
