Autism Spectrum Play Group
Jakob's Playdate
ABC Pediatric Therapy Network donates its facility so Jenn, from Q102, and her son, Jakob, can host a playdate for all kids with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. The playdate is from 10-12:00 at ABC Pediatric Therapy Network in West Chester. This playgroup is free of charge to all kids with ASD and their siblings are welcome. The playgroup is a great opportunity for parents and guardians to network with other families that are facing the same challenges, as well as meet other ASD children and siblings. Kids get to run around and have fun while their families network and socialize. Plus there is an ABC therapist on hand to answer any questions regarding Autism Spectrum Disorders and therapy.
Autism spectrum disorders significantly change family dynamics. A child that falls inside the Autism Spectrum has special needs, and one of those needs is socialization. ABC Pediatric Therapy Network is opening their doors for an Autism Play Group. This group is run by parents whose children fall into the Autism Spectrum. The hope is that the children will be able to interact with peers in a setting that children LOVE!!!
Whether they are all crashing into the foam pit, swinging on one of our dozen swings, or just running around, it will be a chance for families to bond and make new friends.
The next playgroups are scheduled for: 7/12/08, 8/9/08, 9/13/08, and 10/11/08 from 10:00-12:00. RSVP to attend.
If you are interested in participating, please RSVP to Jenn at jenn@wkrq.com
